Lesson Learnt : Just go downstairs and buy brownie.

2 days ago, i became infamous in office. My mode of receiving so much attention in <5mins?>

That fine day, Ms Sotong suggested we eat some pastries for tea. So we took out the last 2 pieces of our stocks in the fridge - 1 brownie + 1 choc fudge cake. Yummy right? But then fresh from the fridge, cold mah, cannot eat.. So the clever invention of mircowave comes into good use!

Two of us being totally uneducated in cookery. I suggested 4 mins to heat it up and Ms Sotong suggested 5. So, i key in 5mins and we left the microwave for some newspaper reading. Not long after, our poor Uncle Postal came shouting to us "girl girl!! got smoke!!"

So the brownie + fudge cake were overheated, and damn lot of smoke came out from the oven. Just nice, Mickey Mouse was into the pantry and shockingly asked "What happened?" (argh! why him?) We quickly fetch Ms Admin. I should have recorded her expression when she stepped into the pantry. You know the chinese term - Ku siao bu de? (want to cry and laugh at the same time)

Then the fire alarm was triggered (thanks to the smoke). Dont worry, not the actual alarm. No sound one.. There's only smoke, no heat. That's why no actual alarm. But the fire alarm detected large amount of smoke and our security guards + fire waden came rushing up to see what happened. When we told them the truth, everyone laughed... Now that i thought of it, were they laughing at my stupidity of dont know how to use a microwave or laugh at me trying sp hard to eat a piece of brownie? Whichever it is, ah!!!!!! There goes my reputation!!!

Off the security guards and fire waden back to their station and came lots of office queries.. The question floating around is "What's that smell? Something burning?" Yes, the smell and smoke travelled so far and fast that the whole level is filled with it. My office is not small ok? When i mean the whole level, i mean it's really bad.

News spread fast, i was soon termed as Ms Brownie in office. I wonder why Ms Sotong's name was not mentioned. somehow only my name got carried around in office. Damn! I think the joke will carry around for few yrs...

Ms Sotong and I apologise for the panic cause. We heard that those in the meeting room came out and almost begin running for their lifes. Some was about to run before their secretaries told them it's a false alarm. Many told me they feel hungry first smelling the brownie but after that decided not to eat brownie in a month's time after the prolonged smell (they say too much, buey tahan). Ms Admin carried the brownie "perfume" around after work and cause much inconvenience. Most staff left office early that day due to the smell. I was told the smell got carried through the air-con duct and even Level 1 can smell it. Cleaner auntie had to clean the microwave thoroughly before it can be use again. We damaged the plated used but bought back 2 new ones. We caused people to laughed so hard that many complained stomach cramped.

Back in Singapore!

I'm back! Just nice to celebrate National Day~~~ Woohoo!!! Feel so good back home! Zj and I acted 5 days of cai tou aka carrot for Thais to chop, finally, we back to home ground!!! Now photos of Bangkok!
Day 1: Singapore - Bangkok

This is our plane to Bangkok, Jetstar Asia - 3K 515. A very small plane indeed, but $29.90, what do you expect? Can fly there can already lah...
Ta-dah!! First meal @ Bangkok! We ate at the Chinese restaurant on our hotel's 76th floor. Looks good? Actually taste so so only, but we're both very hungry...
So lets feast!!!
Yummy!!
After dinner, we went up to the Revolving Tower @ Baiyoke Sky. The tallest building in Bangkok. the Revolving Tower stood at 84th floor i think. From there, you can view the whole Bangkok! The view is spectacular! On normal days, one ticket cost 180Baht (approx $8) to go up, including a free drink at the hotel sky bar. But we went up for free! We didnt know we have to pay for it, hence, we just follow the crowd and go up. There's simply too many people, the hotel people didnt check on us...
Here's the view from the Revolving Tower. Nice? Bangkok's night scene...
After dinner, we take the hotel package, went for the Ladyboy show - Calypso @ Asia Hotel. Ticket + transfer cost us 1000baht each (S$45). Ex right? But then come Bangkok, this is a must see item leh..

This is their stage, it's a small and cosy threatre.

While waiting for the show to start....

The first LadyBoy!! Quite pretty from far, but still can see her manly features.
The free drink. I ordered Whisky on the rocks. Nice stirer... Hee...

The other Ladyboys... Actually most of them arent pretty close up. After the show, they're waiting for us to take photos with them. Each photo must come with a tip. Need to pay one hor...

Obviously, need to pay one we got to pick the prettiest right? This is the prettist of them all. Seems like she's a hot favourite also. Many people queue up to take photo with her. But then, for most people, she merely stand beside and smile. Dont know why for Zj, she went up to hug him... xyz!@#!

Day 2 - Chatuchak Day

Breakfast at Rooftop restaurant. International buffet...

The market sells all sorts of things. Got accessories, furniture, clothes, pets and really everything. Just like a supermarket! The setting looks like Bugis street, just 5x the size.

Their BTS, which is similar to our MRT. I dont think the fare is cheap. I rather take the taxi, it's about the same price for 2 person..Day 3 - Wat Phra Kaew + Shopping

Today, both of us wore orange top. Which makes us look like 2 big walking carrot even more! Hmm.. No wonder people want to cheat us...

Hmm... Breakfast is nice.. Morning view from rooftop restaurant...
On our way to Wat Phra Kaew! It's a sunny day. I mean, really sunny...
Elephants~~~
Zj trying to imitate th Thai King.. See pic behind him...

On the entrance of Wat Phra Kaew, we're required by the security to change into long skirts, shirts and pants... They provide free clothings with a deposit of 100 Baht.

Zj is super reluctant with their clothes. He say they're smelly and super ugly.. Hmm.. I think he looks kind of like Vietnam refugee. Muahaha...

I think i look like Vietnam woman also... Hmm.. Not very nice.

Wat Po - Sleeping Buddha

On our way to Wat Po. We met this local, trying to fool us by saying that day is Buddha Day and Wat Po is closed for praying. Only locals can get in. Of coz i dont believe his crap. He tried to get us into his tuk-tuk and bring us to another place. Crazy lor. Lucky i didnt believe him. We arrive at Wat Po safely and manage to see the famous Sleeping Buddha. The Buddha is really BIG!

It's BIG~~~The door guard. Every door got 2 door guards standing beside it.

The ash tower. There's a name to it but i cannot remember now. Brother say it's a tower to put ashes inside..

There're a lot of little ponds like this in Wat Po. Each pond is surrounded with stone status.

After visiting Wat Po, we walk around the area... And bump into this street...See the street's name? Bankrupt Bazaar! Though i know it doesnt pronounce like this, but this is our first thought! Haha.. Funny..

We took a taxi and headed to Siam Centre/Siam Paragon area. The famous shopping districts! Actually, prices arent cheap, imported goods are actually more expensive than Singapore's. But it's good to walk around, see see look look.

View at the platform between Siam Paragon and Siam Centre. It's good weather that day. We're lucky. Though it's the rainy season, we didnt meet with any rain! The weather is cloudy throughout, hence, very windy and cooling.

MBK Shopping Centre! Zj and I's favourite shopping centre of all! Mainly because the goods there are most affordable and lots of things to buy!

We tried some road side stall's food. Looks so yummy! And it taste really good! The sauce is very nice. But we dont dare to try too much, scare later stomach upset.

This is how they set up a stall and sell food to people. They deep fried on the spot and mix the sauce for you. Good business eh?

Day 4 - Wandering Around...

Reaching Day 4 there's nothing much left for us to see already. But we still get ready for our breakfast and out to take photos! This is the view from our hotel, our room is on the 40th storey. Zj saying hello to his friend.. Just ignore the words, i meant to show the streets below only.

Lunch was at a nearby shopping centre's foodcourt. I finally bought my Mango glutinous rice!! It's so yummy! They serve it as a dessert in Thai (though it's rice..) Costing 60 Baht. It's relatively expensive as food like Chicken Chop cost only 45 Baht. So, it's an expensive dessert. But really very nice! Afternoon we got nothing to do, so we decided to explore the in-house gym. Actually it's not bad. Nobody use one... I got exercise one ok? Healthy lifestyle...
Then after gym we start walking around again. Spotted this old old old building on our way to MRT. So old and mismatch with they city that i wanted to take a pic of it.

The Station Control there. It works as a money changer for tourist because we need coins to buy the MRT card and there's no coin disperser machine available. Like this arcade counter, you give them money, they pass you coins.MRT card (front view). Looks like our old trans link card right?Back view of MRT card. It's a god idea to put the MRT track printed on the card. Good for tourist lah.The MRT station nearest to my hotel is Phaya Thai. About 10 - 15mins walk. See the tall tall building behind me? It's my hotel!

People queuing for MRT, very orderly right? Quite surprised by their orderly manner...We took the MRT and arrive at Siam Paragon again. Nothing to do so walk around lor.. The entrance of Siam Paragon looks grand. Got water features and plants.. Actually, the whole feeling is same as Singapore's Paragon. Those very classy and grand kind.. Expensive also.. We'd our dinner at Fuji Palace Japanese Restaurant. Recommend by Ms Monkey. Nice ambience! So far, the most satisfied restaurant i'd been.Tea?My curry katsu don! Looks yummy right? It's VERY NICE!!! Oh my.. I miss the taste now..Zj's tempura bento set with chawamushi. The Cha-Wa-Mu-Shi is spectacular lor. It tastes heavenly... Total cost of meal about S$25. Quite worth it right?Day 5 - Bangkok - Singapore

We're quite happy that Day 5 comes.. Coz we really got nothing much to do already. Though we have not been to ChinaTown but both of us have no intention to go there. After packing and repacking our bag, we took our camera and go for more photos.

The busy street infront of our hotel. A very typical Bangkok morning. Cars, food stalls and people..

Chicken wings are quite commonly sold. Looks good huh?

Some other stalls..

This pic is not taken along the street. They dont wear so formally on street. Zj took the pic during our morning breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. Their prata is nice, crispy and not oily. Long queue for it!

Our victories! Actually not a lot of things right? Most of the stuff are for others... We didnt buy much for ourselves.
